Getting to know Zuzanna Bialkowska

Jasmin Campbell Safety Forward

Over the next few months we would like to introduce you to our team at Safety Forward with some fun facts. First up is getting to know Zuzanna Bialkowska, a Junior Health and Safety Consultant at Safety Forward.

Who’s someone you really admire?

My mum is the person I admire the most, and always will. Even though she went through a lot, she always brings huge positivity into mine and my brother’s lives when we have some problems. She’s always there to support and help us.

You are on death row (wrongly convicted of course), what would your last meal be?

Definitely my grandma’s dumplings! I could eat them everyday and never get bored of them.

What do you enjoy most about working for Safety Forward?

I really appreciate the fact that I can be 100% myself and I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not. I also love the friendly atmosphere created by the team! And I appreciate the fact they respect that l talk a lot.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

I still remember clearly, it was my first pair of Nike Air Jordans Retro 4 . I always wanted to have them, but they were and still are really expensive for a pair of trainers. I played basketball those days and I was really into all of Jordan’s clothing. Once I found my first part-time job at age of 17, I spent most of my first wages on them. It might sound silly today, because it’s just a pair of sneakers, but my dream came true that day!

What’s the best advice you have ever heard?

My dad once told me “don’t stress about things you can’t change” which really stuck with me.

Zuzanna Bialkowska - Safety ForwardWhat’s your favourite place you have ever visited?

I have been fortunate enough to visit many beautiful places around Europe, but Milan will always be in my heart. I went there with my best friend in 2019 and we both immediately fell in love with the Italian culture from our very first moments in Milan. We were delighted by the Duomo Cathedral and all the old town architecture and as the Alps mountains were just a couple of hours by train from there, we also decided to visit Lake Como. I’m a huge lover of coffee, with all other coffee being incomparable to the taste of the Italian one! I will definitely return to Milan one day…

What would your chosen super power be?

I wish I could read minds so I could find out what people honestly think about me! I think…..

What is your greatest achievement within work and personal life?

My greatest work achievement is still ahead of me, but regarding my life experience it was my graduation. After three stressful years at university, I finally graduated in the Fire and Rescue Degree in 2020 with  First-Class Honours.  However, it did not stop me from developing myself even further into a Master of Science in Fire Safety Engineering which I am currently undertaking and hopefully I will beat my Bachelor achievement with a master’s degree one next year!

What makes your blood boil?

I’m fuming when someone tells me I’m not right…I mean how could this be?!

What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?

I have a little dream to climb Mount Blanc with my Dad next year. The love of mountains was passed from generation to generation in my family, so myself and my Dad would like to try for the summit of Mount Blanc hopefully next year.
